New details are coming to light following the firing of an Ottawa County corrections officer who is accused of sexually assaulting two inmates.
Jonathan Kermeen, a nine-year employee of the department, was suspended Oct. 30 after allegations against him from an uninvolved female inmate. He was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

A former Brazos County constable’s deputy facing charges of kidnap and attempted sexual assault was in court Monday for a hearing on his upcoming trial.
Agustin Rubio, 43, was charged in 2011 with the two offenses, which stem from separate instances involving college-age women he’s accused of coming into contact with while on duty or working an off-duty security job. Both charges are third-degree felonies.
