September 8, 2013 Redneck clowns for police? WOW!
Yesterday, while a friend and I was headed to lunch, we seen police, fire truck and roads blocked. So instead of Mc Donald’s we took the round about way though Little Fuck (Flock), and crossed on to Hudson from 13th. The police were still as confused I think as the traffic they were directing. Bomb? No one was told to leave McDonalds as we stopped there and went inside got ice teas as well as burgers for our dogs at home. The drive though was blocked off. At noon worst time for this to be blocked, But the police cars blocked the drive though, but no other entrances. Must have been a bomb behind the drive though? No the robot was at the corner of Hudson and 2nd. Just made no since what so ever. But, asking everyone they all said there was an accident, but where did it go? Oh well, Why did the idiot shoot his own hand? A lot of why’s left even after the channel five report. Listed here. All the cars or police sitting in air conditioned cars as if a training time. But, whatever went on was strange as well as funny at the same time. But, then this old man finds this area funny as all hell. Starting with another stupid law or laws as well.
What road workers with flashing yellow lights to be treated like emergency vehicles, and we will pull over. Ok. The funny one is still so damn stupid where some one in the fast or left lane wants to be a good christian and let someone out of some parking lot. Making drivers or hope that drivers will also stop in the right lane to be polite and allow the cross traffic from wherever to get in the two lane, one way street. Any other state and you’ll be laughed at as well as hit! Strange or just plain stupid?
A traffic collision that turned into a gunshot call led to the Bentonville Bomb Squad diffusing an explosive device Saturday in Rogers, police say.
The Bentonville Bomb Squad was called Saturday (Sept. 7) to Hudson Rd. and 2nd Street after Rogers Police officers responded to an accident between a minivan and a car at 8:41 a.m.
One eyewitness said a Ford Escort t-boned the blue minivan, which was pulling out of the McDonalds. According to eyewitnesses, the mini-van driver ran into the woods just north of the accident and shot himself in the hand with a hand gun.
“He went behind the McDonalds and he was running,” said Marcus Pratt, who visited the gas station. “He said he had a bomb or something like that and he shot himself in the hand.”
The driver was taken to Northwest Medical in Bentonville. However, officers found a potential small explosive device inside the minivan.
Officers blocked Hudson Road between 2nd and 8th street for more than three hours. Officers evacuated nearby businesses including the Sonic.
“We had a cop come up here and tell us we needed to evacuate because they had a bomb threat and they didn’t know if it was serious or not,” said Michelle Reif, eyewitness.
The bomb squad deployed its robot and confirmed it was an explosive. Around noon, they diffused it.
“It just kind of makes you think about life a little bit different,” said Amber Landis, eyewitness. “Had they not known about it and not evacuated us, what could have happened?”
“They are definitely our heroes today for sure,” Landis said.
The driver of the minivan was arrested by the Rogers Police Department for several warrants. Additional charges are pending and police aren’t releasing the suspect’s name.
